This dark purple fruit of an Amazon palm tree and is packed full of healthy nutritional components. Imagine a fruit which is full of all the essential food products which give the human body energy, essential vitamins and nutrients plus an anti aging agent. This amazing superfood appears to have it all.

Better than the great benefits of drinking red wine, and even better than the act of eating fresh fruit, this berry promotes good heart health and encourages digestive system health.

The demand for organic food products have risen. People casually walk down store aisles looking for small organic food sticker labels, something set forth by the FDA (Federal and Drug Administration).

The organic food must pass a stringent set of requirements set by the FDA. For example, the food must be grown with any use of chemical additives. Another example is that the livestock cannot be given growth hormones and antibiotics. These are but a few of the long list of requirements.

What are some requirements for certified organic food?

Because the demand for organic food has risen, the government has stepped in to make sure no one is needlessly dying. They’ve given out a standard saying that organic food must be pesticide and chemical fertilizer free, among other things.

The entire production chain must meet the FDA’s requirements. How the seeds grow, how they’re maintained, and how they reach consumers - all of these must pass stringent standards.

Participants Must Prove Themselves

The companies involved in the production must keep meticulous records of production, sales, and the equipment type involved. Moreover, they must have a clear separation border between the organic production areas from the rest of the plant.

The company fields must be kept free of pesticides and other chemical additives for a set number of years. Normally, this number if three, but it varies by country.

The land and the production facility are subject to periodic inspection to maintain the status of a certified organic food producer.

Due to these high standards, certified organic food providers must take that extra mile to ensure quality products. Although it may seem cumbersome, the certification process ensures the health promised by organic foods.
